The most under used tool is the free Google Keyword Tool. Google know what they are doing, this tool allows you to find the latest performing words, search volumes and more. You don’t want to waste time with under performing keywords when building your site or campaigns
I use this extensively and once I determine the best I copy them and use another tool Traffic Travis to sort them in ad groups or website page construction keywords.
Traffic Travis is free it has a pro version at $99 I think, I use this one, but the free version, will do almost anything you need.
It is a keyword tool that sorts, does SEO analysis, page analysis, PPC analysis and has Search Engine Tools and more. I have seen people pay thousands of dollars plus subscriptions for these services.
Using these two in combination will put in advance of the rest and with little or no cost.
